Rainy Day

Sitting on the back porch enjoying a nice rainy day.

Enter Amber:  "Dare me to run around the pool?"

"Dare me to get in?"

"Dare me to dive?"

"Dare me to do it again?"

 I don't think she needed to be dared, but it just added to the excitement of the moment!  I love her so much.  She doesn't look for joy or happiness, she creates it! She is just so much fun to be around.  Even if she wasn't my daughter,  I would call her my friend. Thank you Amber for making me laugh every day :)

My Nana

My grandparents have been a very big part of my life.  I have been very blessed in the fact that they have also been a big part of my children's lives as well.  My grandfather (Papa) died last year from cancer, and since then my grandmother's (Nana) Alzheimer's has been rapidly increasing.  She has been in an assisted living community for the past couple of months.  The process has been very hard and she wants very much to just go home. But without Papa here, I don't think she will ever feel comfortable anywhere he is not.  Home is truly where the heart is.

My mom and I take the girls every weekend to see Nana.  These days, I am please to say she is not packing her bags daily, she is not calling multiple times a day for someone to come pick her up, and she is smiling more than crying.  She is making new friends every day, even if they are the same friends as the day before!  The staff love her and are always telling us what a joy she is and how much positive energy she brings.
